    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

Leonardo DiCaprio claims that various events are occurring due to climate change. In fact, as specific examples of these events, he cited the drought becoming more intense, our oceans being acidifying with methane, and sea levels rising. As for climate change, industry, government and the U.S. military are aware of it and have set it as a top priority. It sounds difficult; however, he also says at the same time that it is possible to solve them. He cites renewable energy as an example of a solution. It is not only achievable but also a good economic policy, he thinks. However, it was to world leaders that he most insisted. He said “It is time for you, our leaders, to answer this greatest challenge with courage and honesty.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

I am most intrigued by the rising sea level in the event Leonardo DiCaprio spoke. He is right that the sea level is rising due to climate change caused by global warming, and it will certainly be a crisis in the future. In fact, if sea levels continue to rise, Tuvalu will be left with nothing in 50 years. Other predicted damages to ecosystems include coastal erosion, intensification of coastal disasters such as storm surges, tidal waves, and abnormal tide levels, and loss of coastal wetlands. In this way, the rising sea level is the most crucial event; because of it, I am interested in this topic.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

In order to solve climate change, industries and governments need to set specific policies. So far, there are some options to control climate change, for example, “Governments must invest in renewable energy.”” Governments must pay a tax on carbon usage.” These are international policies, not national policies. However, the proposals are very effective. It is believed that climate change can be controlled if industries and governments also follow this course of action in their policies and operations.

I totally agree with you.To be honest, I thought sea level rise was not an issue close to me, but there are several countries in the world that are facing sea level rise, and I realized that it is a problem that needs to be solved.

I’m also concerned with the rising sea level, because it is relevant with us and it can happen to us. Tuvalu has received the most attention because it is in danger of disappearing due to rising sea levels, but it will also have a major impact on Japan as an island nation. Therefore, I believe that many people should be interested in this issue.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

He has a message of urgency for world leaders. Climate change is not imaginary. People act like climate change will go away in time, but the problem is unavoidable. Droughts are worsening, the oceans are warming and acidifying. Greenland’s glaciers are melting at an unprecedented rate. People are aware of this fact. But this global crisis is no longer a personal problem. Industries and governments around the world must take action. If ecosystems are destroyed, economies will die. Since clean air and a viable climate are non-negotiable human rights, climate change is more than a political issue, it is our own survival issue. By presenting at the United Nations, he is also pleading with world leaders to face the problem with courage and integrity.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

Global Warming. Deforestation, increased greenhouse gases, and depletion of the ozone layer have caused several islands to disappear from the earth. Abnormal weather is also a part of global warming. In Japan, the maximum temperature in summer is rising every year. Rising temperatures indirectly affect the human body through heat stroke and other adverse effects. Currently, various countries are dedicating themselves to the goal of solving global warming. We still don’t know if they are achievable or if they are effective. Global warming will be a problem that we will have to face during our lifetime. I hope that in the future we will be able to solve it, even if only a little.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

Climate change is more than a personal problem. We need to tackle the problem on a large scale. He gave several examples in his speech. He gave several examples in his speech, such as charging for carbon dioxide and stopping subsidies to oil refining and coal gas companies. These initiatives may be extreme and some people may lose money. But without this level of commitment, climate change will not be solved. Industries and governments should take this issue seriously and not just look out for their own interests.

In Canada, there were the day that the temperatures were over 40. It’ s because of global warming. To live comfortably, I hope the problem will be solved in the future.

  3. Daisuke Kuriyama says:

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

His main message is that in recent years, climate change has become the biggest threat to our security. For instance, exacerbating droughts, ocean acidification, and the melting of the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets are progressing much faster than science predictions. Climate change is no longer a problem that can be managed or solved by individual eco-friendly actions, but has become a major issue which countries and industries around the world should act on. However, many people pretend to ignore the issue and try to identify it as an imaginary problem that has nothing directly to do with them. In order to confront this problem, we must take large-scale action, not on an individual level, but on a national or even global level.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

The climate change that I am most concerned with is flooding, heavy rains, and other water disasters. Global warming is said to be one of the major causes of heavy rain. Global warming increases the average temperature, which increases the amount of water in the air and frequency of rain. Currently, Japan is exposed to disasters caused by climate change every year, and among them, flood damage is a serious problem. In fact, Kumamoto Prefecture, where I lived when I was a university student, was extremely damaged by the heavy rains in the summer of 2020. Over 400 millimeters of rain fell in 24 hours for 3 or 4 days days in various areas, flooding areas by 3 to 5 meters, resulting in one of the largest floods in the postwar period. More than 60 people were dead and a lot of houses were damaged. Climate change is not an issue that is not relevant with us.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

DiCaprio said that there are two main actions that governments and industries should take. The first is limiting the freedom of industrial polluters by imposing a price on carbon dioxide emissions and by abolishing government support for all oil, coal, and gas companies. Setting a carbon price will help to promote the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which are considered to be the biggest cause of global warming. The second is to take advantage of renewable energy. It has no risk of exhausting, is a good measure against global warming, and is also very effective as an economic measure. Climate change is a problem which is related to our survival, and every country must take such actions to confront this problem together.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

Mr. DiCaprio wanted to tell us that we are facing a big problem, but it is an achievable task, and it is decided whether we can fix it or not by depending on our actions. He acted the solving fictitious problems as an actor. He hope that if the problem, climate change, were fiction as well as the problem he acted as an actor. However, there are really some problems, our oceans are acidifying with methane plumes rising up from the ocean floor, we are seeing extreme weather events, and so on. He didn’t force us to buy an eco-friendly one, but he told us that we can choose the future by our hands and our actions.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

I am most concerned about rising the ocean floor. Why I am concerned about that because a large number of people have to move to other lands by rising the ocean floor and the land they can live on becomes smaller. Actually, most people who live in the major land have some problem with climate change, but it is not too directly. I don’t feel that I have to effort to solve the problem immediately. Because I don’t know what happens now and where. However, some people are facing this problem directly. And they must be scared to survive now. When I imagine the situation, I feel that the people who are most scared about that are such people.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action” What actions should industries and governments take?

According to his speech, industries, and governments around the world, taking decisive large-scale action. For example, the industry and government should put a price tag on carbon emissions, and eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. And also, we need to end the free ride that individual polluters have been given in the name of a free-market economy. In the world, renewable energy is not only achievable but good economic policy. Generally speaking, It is said that individual action is important for saving our earth. However, I think some rules are necessary to create the norm for individual behavior. It is only when there are rules that we have a sense of mission that we have to do and create morals.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?
His main message is that we must make an action to solve the climate crisis. Nowadays, climate change is caused some problem like droughts, acidifying of ocean, and melting ice sheets in West Antarctic and Greenland. At first glance, these problems are not related people’s lives, but it is one of the problems that people need to solve in order to alive. In addition, these disasters are beyond the choices that individual make, so he gave an example that we need to put a price on carbon emission, and abolish to give subsidies for oil, call and gas companies. Therefore, he mentioned that we have human rights such as clean air and livable climate.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening.
Which one concerns you the most?
I am concerned the most about droughts because getting the water and food are essential for our lives. In South Africa, drought is serious problem then about 45 million people are facing a lack of food. Furthermore, not only people but also wild animals like elephants are dying due to lack of water. In Hokkaido, Japan also has serious problem such as dying cows and extremely decreasing the yield amount of vegetables. As a result, farmers are losing their jobs and the high price of food. Since increasing the price of food will make it more difficult for low-income people to get food, more people will face food shortages. Therefore, I think that the impact of droughts on our lives is large and extremely serious problem.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make.
This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?
He gave the example of putting a price on carbon dioxide and he said that renewable energy is good for economic policy. I think that industries and governments need to be accelerated introduction of renewable energy in order to reduce carbon emissions. The advantage of renewable energy is that it is not only good for environment, but also the fuel does not run out. Thus, it is more effective to solve this problem. As he said, this is not easy problem that can be easily solved by just changing their lightbulbs or buying a hybrid car. Therefore, industries and governments must figure out the way to solve this problem, and they need to conduct it immediately.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

He talked about the changing climate and what steps we should take to address it. We are confronted with new and various climatic challenges. It shows that the climate issue is increasing. He claimed that resolving this problem is quite difficult. There are a variety of climate change issues, such as rising sea levels. Furthermore, because a large number of individuals have been affected by these difficulties, we must take immediate steps to address them. Now must be our time to act, he remarked. He argued that one of the best ways to mitigate the climate catastrophe is to use renewable energy. Everyone must be passionate about the issue since its resolution will determine whether or not we will exist. For these reasons, I believe that the most important lesson he intended to express to us is that we must begin taking action right away to preserve our society, since these weather patterns are urgent signs and signals for people all around the world.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

I am concerning the most is increasing in temperature. It is clear that increasing in temperature can trigger a lot of issues such as increasing heatstroke and agriculture. Speaking of heatstroke, the number of the patients are increasing since 2000s. The temperature will increase year by year and the number of the people who die due to the symptom can increase. In addition, increasing in temperature also affects agriculture significantly. If the temperature rise, suitable place to make one fruits or vegetables such as apples change. That is the big problem not only for people who are working there, but also for consumers. For example, in west side of Japan, in one peach orchard, some of peaches there have defects in the skin color and their texture.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

Industories and governments have to deal with how to reduce the use of fossil fuels and also how to introduce renewable energies. Speaking of reduction of fossil fuel using, they should use the concept of “carbon pricing”. It works significantly on many companies that emits a ton of CO2. About renewable energy introduction, they need to make some beneficial systems for customers that can trigger the purchase of them.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?
He suggests the most urgent topic is that clean air and livable climates are essential human rights, and solving climate change is not a question of politics, it is a question of people’s own survival. In addition, he said this is the time that industries and governments around the world take large-scale action for solving this problem. Large-scale action means not encouraging them to change their lightbulbs or to buy a hybrid car but forcing industrial to put a price on carbon emissions, eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies, and reduce a number of vehicles.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?
I am the most concerned with the West Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets melting at unprecedented rates because my home town is the nearby beach and my one of the most favorite place is Hawaii. According to research by the University of Hawaii, the sea level will rise more than 10 inches above current levels, which could cause 40% of the Hawaiian Islands’ coastline to disappear by 2050, if we don’t try to stop it. Some experts said that the beaches are a very important place for native plants or animals, as well as an essential part of Hawaii’s economy. If it would happen, I feels shocked and depressed about never being able to see again that precious landscape. And also, from my hometown perspective, some neighborhoods are no longer sandy beaches where there were until 2002. I also love my hometown, so I try to work on a more eco-friendly life and contribute to solving climate changes.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?
From DiCaprio’s speech, industries and governments should take large-scale action, for example, to put a price on carbon emissions, eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies, and reduce a number of vehicles. And also the use of renewable energy will bring benefits to the economy and they need to protect the ecosystem on the earth for continuing their economy. In addition to this, in my opinion, their measures should be taken to increase the amount of garbage recycled. I believe this idea leads to rescue using incineration plant and pollution of air and sea, and important aspects for solving climate changes.

    1) What is DiCaprio’s main message?
DiCaprio insists that we have to take an action to curb the progress of global warming. We tend to regard global warming as unreal. However, there is the fact that global warming is steadily progressing. We can find this fact around the world, such as intensifying droughts, or acidified ocean due to rising methane plume. Global warming that causes these serious problems is hard to solve, but achievable task. He takes some specific examples as the way to solve global warming. They are putting a price tag on carbon emissions and eliminating government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. He believes that global warming is not the problem of politics but our own survival.

    2) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?
I am most concerned with the fact that West Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets are melting at unprecedented rates. Melting of the ice is related to sea level rise and it causes many problems. For example, because of sea level rise, some people have to move to other place. This may be easy for people who have enough money, but it can be life-threatening for people who cannot move due to lack of money. And also, sea level rise has a possibility to increase the number of water-borne infections. If these infections start to affect humans’ health seriously, the economic situation is going to be in a bad shape. These problems caused by sea level rise can affect humans’ lives and society. This is why, I am most concerned with the fact of ice melting.

    3) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” What actions should industries and governments take?
He insists that industries and governments should put a price tag on carbon emissions and eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. And also, they should end the free ride that industrial polluters have been given in the name of a free-market economy. As he insists, it is necessary to corporate with many organizations such as industries and governments in order to protect our environment. We cannot survive anymore and protect our next generations unless we address global warming by cooperating with each other seriously. Therefore, the actions he insists that industries and governments should take are crucial.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?
His main message is that we as human beings need to tackle the issue of climate change seriously. The issue of climate change may seem like fiction, but it is a major problem that is happening on our planet. The chief of the US Navy’s Pacific Command Admiral Samuel Locklear said that climate change is our single greatest security threat. Solving this problem is very difficult, but he believes it is achievable. Solving this crisis is not a question of politics, it is a question of our own survival. Therefore, We as individuals must not only address this problem but industry and government must also take this problem seriously.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?
My greatest concern is that the ice sheets in West Antarctica and Greenland are melting at an unprecedented rate for decades and that some islands will disappear. As the ice sheets melt, water levels will rise. This causes some islands to sink beneath the water. This will not simply threaten human, animal, and plant life, but will cause other problems as well. That is the influx of the population. People who have escaped the threat of rising seawater will have to move to other lands. This will lead to a variety of problems such as food, ethnicity, and habitat. And it is not the developed countries that emit a lot of carbon dioxide that suffer from this, but the islands with low carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, developed countries should not think only of their own interests as a priority. They should also consider the damage that other countries will suffer.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?
As he said, the government needs to put a price tag on carbon emissions and eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. When deciding on arrangements for carbon dioxide emissions, there should be strong laws and regulations in force. Otherwise, it will be easy for some companies to break the agreement and make a profit. For example, companies with high carbon dioxide emissions are subject to heavy fines. The fines are then given back to other companies that observe the rules. This will make companies more competitive, which in turn will lead to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. In addition to these things, the government must spend a lot of money to develop renewable energy technologies. This is because if renewable energy can provide most of our electricity, it could dramatically reduce our carbon emissions and stop climate change. And governments will need to share the information with other countries, rather than keeping it only in their own country. By doing so, the problem of climate change can be solved faster.

    a)What is DiCaprio’s main message?

Mr. DiCaprio is pleading to the United Nations to take the concerns surrounding climate
change as an extremely real and concerning problem. He talks about
how in his profession as an actor he pretends for a living. That people in movies
create fictional solutions for fictional problems, but, he argues that in contrast
to that climate change is in fact real and is happening at an alarming rate
in the past couple of years. He goes on by saying, how cities are sinking into
the ocean, how those same oceans are polluted with acid and the drought in arid
places becoming more and more of a problem by the year, and yet, unfortunately, many
people, government representatives included, are treating it like a fictional problem
from a movie. They think that if they look away it’ll dissappear. And this is not a movie.

He pleads for real solutions, ones that will take time and effort but are nontheless good for the
World. He asks for major corporations, governments and the many companies who make a good
chunk of those issues to have a solution or die in the near future.

“I’m not asking for people to change their lightbulbs or start buying
electric cars.” He says to the delgates of the World, “The people are making their voices heard and we beg you
to face it with courage and honesty.”

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

I’m mainly concern about the rising levels of the ocean. I’ve heard somewhere that if this keeps going a good chunk of New York will be underwate by 2050, New York and in the case of Mexico Baja California Norte and probably, in subsequence also South.

Not counting the amount of fauna from extreme cold places like Antartica that will soon perish by not having a land to stand on; exotic places like Tuvalu and even Fiji will cease to extist by 2050, some studies show.

There are at minimum of 20 islands that are sinking right now. 20 islands with population that will loose their homes, heritage and entire cultures. It’ll be the closest thing to a real life Atlantis but multiply by 20.

I find that very sad. Sad and concerning.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

This is a tricky thing. Because you can’t convince everyone and you can’t convinced everyone. Let alone make sure and entire company does what is right if it costs them money. Coorporate profressionals tend to do what’s cheaper and if your’re solution, even if well-intended, makes them loose cash then they will deny it.

But, if the government implement strict laws it might subside a bit. We really need to start with laws, and government officials to make the part, the others will follow.

DiCaprio is exposing his opinion as a simple person who is really concerned about the change climate, beyond of be a famous actor he pretends to show in front of the UN. members his perspectives about it, some examples to make conscious of this problem and highlight the big impact of this phenomenon has on all of us. He exposes too some solutions that require help from everyone and especially of the governments, as an ideal solution to regulate most of this problem.

    2. HE MENTIONED THAT MANY CLIMATE CHANGE EVENTS ARE HAPPENING. WHICH ONE CONCERNS YOU THE MOST?
In my opinion, I´m from Colombia, we only have two stations of the year: too much sun or too much rain, so, I´m according to whit DiCaprio when he says “We are seeing extreme weather events…”, around to my city, Villavicencio, there are spaces of grazing and this is one of the economy of my region and in the last years, the farmers have been suffering floods causing livestock losses, floods when all the year we have a temperature of 28 degrees centigrades, and this is not enough when heatwave affects this generate fires and losses too. So, in my words, There are some consequences of change climatic do in the small area compared to results caused by big industry.

    3. “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?
DiCaprio is telling that to improve or prevent it from becoming worse, we need large-scale action from governments and I agree with this point. The fact of put a price tag on carbon emission would regulate the use of combustible, and regulate industrial polluters with normative more friendly to our environment helping of renewable energy could mean a big difference. But, I continue thinking about the personal responsibility is too a good idea to have a huge difference to improve this disaster.

It is known by industry, government, and even the United States military. For instance, the problem such as rising the sea level, the weather problem, and the ice is melting. Then, He told us that now we must be the time to take decisive large-scale action for industries and government all over the world. We need to more focus on it. The thing that we need to do is to put a price tag on carbon emissions, and eliminate government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. Also, renewable energy is possible to save us, and it can be good economic policy. It is the time to challenge for human.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

I am the most concerned about problem of rising temperature. For this past 100 years, the average temperature of earth is rising rapidly to 0.3-0.6 degrees. If it is going on, it is expected that it will rise 2 degrees in 2100. The caution is Green House Gases from our activities. If it continues, there are many problems such as the rising sea level, ice seats melting in West Antarctica and Greenland, health, and agriculture problem. The effects of global warming do not appear at the same time everywhere. It is predicted that rising temperature will be greater in higher latitude regions. Also, the precipitation pattern will have big differences between regions. The Sudden cold damage, local abnormal rainfall and dryness may also increase. Especially, it will have a greater impact in developing countries where it is difficult to take political measures due to economic and technical circumstances.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

In his speech, what Industries and governments should take decisive large-scale action. There are some examples such as putting a price tag on carbon emissions, and eliminating government subsidies for all oil, coal, and gas companies. In addition, we need to end the free ride that industrial polluters have been given in the name of free-market economy. It takes a large amount of money and time for doing these things. However, if we take it seriously, the situation going to get worse.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

His main message was that we must finally tackle climate change, an issue that is critical to our survival. Climate change is our own problem. However, we pretend to make a living by acting as if it is not our problem. He describes it as fiction, referring to his profession as an actor. Climate change is occurring at a faster speed than we can expect. The problem has already grown to the degree that it cannot be solved by individuals. The positive point is that renewable energy is not only good for the environment but also a good economic policy. However, we must consider this issue not as a political issue, but as a matter of our survival. It is time for us to make a big decision on climate change.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

His speech was interesting for me. The most concerning part is about extreme climate. A particularly familiar topic to me is the phenomenon of the rise in global average temperature as the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases. I was very surprised to see the unusually high temperatures in Vancouver this summer, reaching 40 degrees Celsius. It was an event that made me notice that even countries in relatively cold regions are beginning to be affected by extreme weather. I had only known about the situation in my own country, Japan, but I realized that similar things were happening in other countries as well. Thus, extreme climates are a topic that concerns me the most.

    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

I believe that taxes should be introduced to deal with environmental problems and climate change in each country, especially in the so-called developed countries. It takes a huge amount of money to deal with this growing problem. In addition, the cooperation of developed countries, which has great power in the world, is essential to solve this problem. Therefore, I believe that one solution is for each country to fund solutions to current problems in order to create a sustainable world.

      hi~Daiki
Thank you for sharing the information. I am worried about Vancouver’s summer temperature too. In Taiwan, we are already turning on the air conditioner if the temperature goes to 35 degrees. I can’t imagine how Canadians deal with the 40 degrees temperature without an air conditioner.

    § a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?

Leonardo DiCaprio’s main message is asking the leader of the world to take large-scale action on this most urgent climate issue. People are seeing these examples of climate issues such as droughts intensifying and ice sheet melting, but some of them are still looking like they are fiction. It is time to face this urgent issue of our survival.

§ b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?

Without a doubt, the ice sheet melting is my most concerning event. The ice sheet melting will lead to sea-level rise. Thus, my hometown Taiwan was warned by scientists. In the near future, Taiwan’s main cities have a great chance of soaking in the ocean. I have no idea what I should do if that day comes.

§ c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?

He mentioned that governments should put a price on carbon emission and scrutinize those industrial polluters. It is hard for the government and industries to adapt to take a large-scale action. As he said, this climate crisis needs more powerful policy and strength to solve together.

    a) What is DiCaprio’s main message?
DiCaprio’s main message was that humans have a possibility of overcoming the climate crisis with the worldwide cooperation. Nowadays, the many bad influences caused by climate change have happened around the world. In addition, almost all people, some institutions and governments understand the evidences of this and then they also know that it is very difficult to solve this problem. As to this serious situation, he stated that these disasters have become beyond the choices that each people could make. In the other words, large scale action would be needed to save the world climate. Besides, he showed that renewable energy could be achievable and good economic policy. In this way, he told that humans could overcome the climate crisis with the worldwide cooperation.

    b) He mentioned that many climate change events are happening. Which one concerns you the most?
I think that rising of the sea level is the most serious problem. Even now, we have the limitation of places to live. If the all continent would be gone under the sea, humans would extinct. Specifically, rising of the sea level has been seen in some island such as Greenland. If their countries would sink under the sea, people of the countries have to move the other country to survive. This dynamic action leads serious issues from political, social, economical perspectives. Therefore, it is clear that rising of the sea level is not single problem but the serious problem that will cause the second disaster.
    c) “This disaster has grown beyond choices that individuals make. This is about industries and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action.” (2:15) What actions should industries and governments take?
I think industries and government should take actions from both perspectives: large scale perspective and individual one. At first, they need make set of strategy for each country, community, or company. This action will make all institutions move in the same direction and goal. And then, they need create the short-term strategy and make individuals know about this in detail. I think it is important for solving this problem that everyone from country to individuals have a common idea and goal about serious climate crisis.
